About Yumi
Yumi Ross is a long time Highland Park Resident and dedicated public servant who is focused on improving life for families in our community. On the city council, she is a voice for city vitality: supporting existing valued businesses, innovation to attract new ones, contributing to better urban design of infrastructure, buildings, and green spaces. Her holistic approach towards revitalizing Highland Park has already made a real difference. With her dedication, unique background and passion to serve, Yumi will continue to make progress well into the future.
Yumi, an architect and member of the American Institute of Architects, has lived for almost 25 years in Highland Park where she and her husband Doug– a third generation Highland Parker, also an architect and her partner in work–raised their twins who attended D112 and D113 schools, and are both graduates of University of Chicago.
Yumi is a longtime volunteer in Highland Park who is deeply grateful for the many caring and compassionate people she has had the opportunity to meet and work with for over two decades.
