Earth Shade

Yumi and her husband designed this globe “Earth Shade” for the 2007 Cool Globes summer exhibition in Chicago, a project to raise awareness about climate change. The same wood screens that are often used to shade and protect buildings from excessive solar heat gain surrounded this globe. Navy Pier kept “Earth Shade” on its front lawn for four years.
